Networking Gone Wrong
How Colin Levy went from hating networking to loving it
I love networking. I used to hate networking.
The mere mention of the word would make my skin crawl. Now, I can't get enough. What changed?
A) I changed my perspective.
I learned to view networking as not about advancement or promotion, but about learning about others and from others.
B) I changed how I networked.
Instead of having conversations about what I simply wanted, I started having conversations about what I wanted to learn about.
C) I changed where I networked.
Instead of networking simply through in-person events, I learned how to use tools like LinkedIn and Twitter to reach out to folks and start conversations.
You never know where a conversation with someone may lead you.
